Zoom LENSeS    16mm Format

The Canon 8-64mm Super 16 Zoom Lens was developed with documentary filmmakers in mind, but became a popular choice among cinematographers of all types. This lens is perhaps best known today for its use by Barry Ackroyd, BSC on The Hurt Locker, but was well-used in the decades prior. The 8-64mm offers a great combination of both vintage aesthetic qualities and practical features such as its large zoom range (roughly equivalent to the FOV of a 14.5mm-115mm on a Super 35mm sensor), close focus of 1' 10", and its compact size. Also noteworthy is that this lens has virtually no focus breathing, as well as a constant aperture of T2.4 throughout the entire zoom range.
