HOW TO RENT
How it works
Renting from CineMechanics is easy. Just follow these steps:
1. BROWSE EQUIPMENT
Check out our inventory of production equipment rentals and build a list of cameras, lenses, lighting and other film equipment you need for your project.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask us! We’ll likely be able to source the equipment you need.
2. REQUEST AN ESTIMATE
Send us your equipment order by submitting the form below or email it to us. Let us know your pick-up and return dates. We’ll get back to you with pricing and availability.
Got questions about what gear you need? We're happy to make suggestions that fit your budget.
3. BOOK YOUR RENTAL
Once you approve the estimate and you are ready to book your rental, we’ll coordinate the camera prep, pick-up, drop-off and any shipping logistics with you so you can start shooting your project.
New Customer? We will need to set up a new account for you and get your certificate of insurance on file. See, "How to Set Up an Account" below.
How to Set Up an Account
Before we can prepare and release your equipment, we will need the following forms and information from you:
1. Complete the New Rental Account Application.
2. Send us your Certificate of Insurance (sample COI here)

Rental Rates
DAILY RATE
For a one day rental rate you can pick up your equipment at 3:00pm the day before your shoot and return it by 10:00am the day after. If you need an earlier pickup, contact us and we can try to accommodate.
3 DAY WEEK
For jobs shooting anywhere from three days up to seven consecutive days, we will only bill for three days. We do require you to return the gear after your last shoot day.
LONG TERM
Get in touch with us! We’ll work within your budget and timeframe so things fit for you.
Final pricing for equipment packages is based on the amount of equipment rented and length of your rental period. We will generate a custom quote for you once we receive your full equipment list and dates of your project.
Equipment Pickup & Delivery
We can deliver directly to you.
DELIVERY & PICKUP TIMES
We are open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
We understand production, so if you need an earlier pickup time, please let us know and we can likely accommodate.
We will need a three hour window to schedule the delivery. Smaller windows and last minute deliveries are possible based on our availability.
DELIVERY & PICKUP LOCATIONS
We can deliver or pick up at your location within a 25 mile radius of Minneapolis. For special deliveries outside of Minneapolis please contact us.
DELIVERY & PICKUP RATES
Delivery fees vary, so please inquire. Delivery fees start at $50 and can vary depending on distance and time of day. For deliveries outside of our standard 25 mile radius, please contact us for pricing.
CAMERA PREP
You're welcome to prep your camera rental at our facility. Our spacious prep bays, filled with natural light, are fully equipped with professional focus charts, essential tools, and everything you need for a smooth checkout. We start early, and the coffee is always fresh—come get set up for success!
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Our knowledgeable staff is dedicated to making your rental experience seamless. We provide technical support during pre-production, prep, and on set. If you need guidance or have specific needs, we’ll help find the best solution. Our motto? "Fix it in Prep"—because "Fix it in Post" costs a lot more!"
